A Note on Hygiene
The RSPB advise cleaning feeders every couple of weeks and using a mild bird safe disinfectant. In wet or hot weather it’s suggested that you even check them every day. Mould and bacteria are not good for birds so wash your feeders and dry them thoroughly before adding fresh seed. You can use Jacobi Jayne’s Feeder Fresh to absorb excess water and help prevent seeds from becoming mouldy. This soft brush is great for cleaning the inside of the plastic tube.
