A Note on Hygiene
All peanut feeders need cleaning regularly – mould and mildew are dangerous for birds so check your tables and feeders regularly. Every couple of days when it’s wet, humid and damp. Wash with a mild detergent and think about using a bird safe disinfectant to stop the spread of viruses and keep bacteria at bay. If you are feeding wild garden birds the RSPB suggest that you also offer them water to drink and bathe in.
